No one wants a filthy carpet on the floor of their vehicle. Dirt, grass, rocks and other debris do more than cause stains. These objects build up and eventually crush fibers. They also make floor carpeting look old and worn out. To protect your vehicle, follow these three simple tips:
- Install ridged, rubber or resin mats that fit each floor space perfectly and provide a raised outer border that prevents debris from rolling off the mats onto the carpet.
- At least once a week, remove and shake or vacuum the mats. If you have the time, rinse each mat with wipes that are designed to add luster to rubber and resin surfaces so that the mats don’t turn dull from debris damage.
- Put a pair of clean shoes in a bin or tote inside of your vehicle. Remove dirty shoes as need be and swap them with the extra clean ones.
As you can see, it isn’t difficult to protect your vehicle’s carpet from debris buildup.
